Lesson One: Solving Systems by Graphing Page 5: Study and practice |
Wednesday: LALA Connection 12/13
Now that you have read "Teaching History through Fiction" and processed the ideas in the Point and Counterpoint sides, you will be writing your personal conclusion piece. Follow these steps. 1. Put a correct heading on your paper 2. Write a paragraph that states your opinion about whether or not a teacher should use fiction to teach history. THERE CAN BE NO "FENCE SITTING." You must choose one side of the argument. (I agree there can be good and bad in both; but one side of the question should have stronger meaning to you...go with that side.) Your paragraph needs to have at least three supporting ideas for your opinion and these ideas (evidence) must come from the arguments presented in the book. Remember that when you use evidence you must identify where it came from and you must explain it. (You may use any of the work we already did in class as evidence...just be sure to identify the article's title and the paragraph number.) (Article's title only needs to be said once...not every time you refer to a paragraph.) Lastly, be sure to include a concluding sentence. LA Connection 12/6
Students should consider the excerpt they read from The Diary of Anne Frank. (Do not review or consider the play version...only Anne's original diary." Retell the excerpt of The Diary of Anne Frank from Margot's perspective. Address the same situations that Anne addresses in her diary (her friends, Margot being called up, going into hiding....) Write at least three DATED entries from Margot's diary. Also, Anne called her diary "Kitty." Come up with an appropriate name that Margot might address her diary. LA Connection 9/6

There are eight paragraphs, so you should have a minimum of five annotations. The answers for the questions from p. 80 should be written in your Studysync book. |
