Meeting times
Robotics will be meeting in Mr. Jappe's room on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:50-5:00.

Robotics FAQ
1. What is the cost?
The price will be $75 per student. This will include admission to LEGOLAND.
2. Does the club need volunteers?
Yes! Each team needs a parent coach. The FIRST LEGO League requires two coaches for each team. I will be the head coach but a parent needs to be the other coach. The number of teams that we can have is limited by the number of parent coaches we have. Parent coaches will attend a training event at LEGOLAND.
3. How many people can be in the robotics club?
The number of spots will be limited by the number of parent coaches we get. This year, we are hoping to have three teams: One 6th, one 7th, and one 8th. An ideal team has 6 members.
4. When will the club be meeting?
The club will be meeting on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:50-5:00.
5. What if I can't make the meetings?
It is expected that the students will be at the meetings on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If a student cannot make a meeting, it is expected that they let Mr. Jappe know before hand via email. Accommodations for students who have other after school activities can be made on a case by case basis.
6. Where will the club be meeting?
The club will be meeting in Mr. Jappe's classroom. This is a temporary location until we find a more permanent solution.
7. When will the competitions be?
The first competition will be November. There may be other competitions depending on how the teams perform.
8. When will the applications be due?
Please have the applications in by no later than Monday 9/9.
9. How will I know if I made the team?
Students who make the team will be notified via email on Wednesday 9/11.
10. When is the first meeting?
The first meeting will be on Thursday 9/12.
11. How will I pay?
Checks should be made out to Literacy First Charter School and can be sent to the office or to Mr. Jappe. Please have the money turned in by Monday 9/16.
